No, I knew it was built in Sept 2008 and first registered in NZ in 2009, I mistakenly thought that that made it a 2009 (built in Sept 08 for the 09 market). Not an issue at all, it's stunning no matter what year model it is!

thanks for the WD40 tip. I might have to send away for 'Glide'. Still working on it but psychotic that I'll damage the paint underneath and taking it very slowly

Glide (teflon based floss branded by Crest) isn't available in NZ? I'd break my teeth before breaking the floss - but maybe everything in NZ is tougher than the rest of the world (except Floss perhaps). In addition to the hair dryer, you could also apply/moisten the floss with an aliphatic hydrocarbon (goo-gone or even WD-40) and gently work it between the badge and adhesive. This will beak down the adhesive, albeit rather slowly.

There's a lot more fishing line around this town than dental floss - will give it a try, thanks for your interest and the tip. I am enjoying the car more than I could have imagined.
