I don't normally name my cars, but a girl I was dating asked me what I'd call her if I did.

My response: Heidi. She's white, she's German, she's sexy.

J-Lo, because she's a 4S. I know, I know; probably over-used.

I named her Mitzy because she is such a naughty German girl.

Brita is my BMW sportwagon (German house frau name)

Yuki is my Honda CRV beater (Japanese housewife name)

Black rocket, which was preceded by the silver rocket, an audi TT. For a time, my 3 kids were fond of an animated show featuring a curvy red rocket. They no longer care for the show but they still love the black rocket. Also, we strive to instill in our kids some humility and would be loathe to hear them utter "my porsche". On the single occasion my middle one said the p word he did pronounce it correctly.

A good friend of mine names all my cars for me. She picked Zelda for the 911 because the name means "Female Warrior"
Now she named my white, 2.0 liter Audi A5 daily driver "Stella"... but just because that was the first thing that popped in her head.
I learned to fly in the 70s when I was a kid and the fellow that taught me was an old time United Airlines pilot. He had a 1946 Luscombe named Woodstock and a 1956 Cessna 195 named Shaky Jake.. so I acquired a habit of naming machines early on in my life. Sometimes I even talk to them. :-)

I agree....and it's always referred to by me as a 911, rather than a 996, 997, etc.
