Agree with keep 911 and get other van/truck if you can swing it. If you want a close to 911 ride/porsche quality, consider a P4s or Panamera GTS ( I am considering the latter but already have 2 other SUVs for now am keeping the 911-and my 3 kids)

Yes, keep the Porsche and get another car unless parking two cars is a challenge. I got a cayman when I found out our 3rd baby was on the way. Traded it for a Cayenne to be more practical but it soon made me miss having a small Porsche. Now all three fit in my 997.1 for shuttle duties.
If you do have to give up the porsche, than keep in mind that time flies and you'll get one back soon enough. Also, any sedan will do with just one baby. I love hearing about the parents that get the giant suv for their first and only baby.

I bought my 911 when my boy was in forward facing seat. It is actually very easy to get him in and out with buckles as the rear seat is very close to the door. If I were you, I'd try to buy some time until the forward facing seat is an option then stick with the 911.

I agree with others, keep the 911 and buy a less expensive daily driver or buy the C63 in addition to the 911 if you can afford it.

I think the world has gotten soft.
The wife gets pregnant for the first time, the guy panics and the sports car goes up on AutoTrader.com within the hour and the Chrysler Town and Country comes home two days later so they can fit that one child seat in the middle of the second row. The rest of the van gets stuffed with diaper bags, strollers and enough toys to keep an entire pre-school classroom entertained for a week.
My first child spent her first few years in the back of a Camaro as our "family car". My 911s have hauled all my kids from infants to the pre teen years. Kids fit perfect the in back seats. Find the right child seat, slide the front seat ahead a few clicks and bolt 'em in.
My two siblings and I grew up in the back of '70's Monte Carlos since my dad refused to drive anything with 4 doors until we got to be teenagers. We survived.
Do you really need six diaper bags, a stroller the size of a Jeep Wrangler and 40 bottles of formula to go visit your parents 1.2 hours away? Geez, by the time our third child was around, we put two diapers under our arms, 6 wipes in a small plastic holder the size of a couple #10 envelopes, one bottle and headed off to wherever.
Need a stroller at the zoo? Rent one. The "umbrella" type stroller folds up into most any car.
Keep the 911. Make a few sacrifices (like bending into the back seat), but you still get to drive a 911.
Let the wife drive a 4 door sedan and use that for family duties that require more room. She's so pre-occupied with the kid she doesn't care what she's driving.
Seriously, congrats to the OP. Kids are a gift. Cherish your child and raise them the best you can. If you can, have more than one... Two children is status quo, three or more is multiplying.

Don't over react - resist the knee jerk reaction to sell the Porsche. Retro your car with the dealer installed LATCH system and you will be able to transport the baby in the front seat. The only issue is that you or your wife may not want to transport your baby in the front seat. In that case and for the next 1 - 2 years, you will need a third car because you may not be able to swap cars with your wife in case you need to transport your baby (this assumes your wife has a four door sedan or larger). I have a 4 year old daughter and we are expecting another this September. My 4 yr old loves riding in the back and since I have a third 'beater' car we have all bases covered - wife has an SUV. If you must sell your C2S, may I suggest the twin turbo, V8, e63 AMG Wagon

What does the wife drive? If sedan, wagon or SUV, then I would try to keep the 997 and add forward facing seat. I'm also assuming the 997 works for you as a daily driver and wife can fit in the back in a pinch when her car is not available.
Otherwise, a four door C63 would be fine and fun as well. I came off a 911 and have an AMG sedan as my daily right now. I wanted room for four adults and a quieter interior. Having said this, my kids grew up with a 911 doing daily driver duties.
