That's a coupe, right?

If so you might want to consult your wife. I have no kids but I know people who do and the moms especially prefer sedans with easy access to the rear seat where the children ride. And lots of trunk space to hold all the stuff babies/young kids require.

A new daddy told me the other day: 8lbs of baby equals 1000lbs of baby stuff.

What about a Cayenne Turbo S?

Sincerely,

Macster.

I agree with Macster. A sedan, wagon, or SUV is a better choice for a family vehicle, IMO. There are lots of entertaining choices out there in those catagories; the Cayenne is an excellent one and I'm very happy with mine.

C63 comes in sedan and coupe versions. An intriguing choice with hooligan capabilities and the capacity to carry 4...

crappy crappy interior quality in those (seats are nice though).

good power, sloppy transmission. Its a decent car, but it was far more of a one-trick pony than I wanted.

BMW M3 for something sporty with more back seat room than your Porsche.

As Macster said you really want 4 doors (and some trunk space) to make your life easier. But there are many ways to go about finding a solution. Keep the 997 and get a cheap SW/4 door sedan. Sell the 997 and get a decent SW/sedan - which in any case will never be a sports car. Sell the 997 and get a cheaper aircooled Pcar and a decent used SW/sedan (M3 or similar). Etc., etc. etc... In the long run 2 cars would probably be more useful than 1 (1 functional and 1 just fun). In any case I wouldn't see it as a sad situation it just makes you look at things differently to find a satisfactory solution.

Ok 3 kids....and at least 10 cars later. Is this your primary car? If so, kids come with "stuff"... diaper bags, play pens, toys etc. As pointed out above getting to them in a back seat with two doors is tough. When I had two kids I had a BMW 3 series coupe, C63 would be same idea. The BMW was fine but was not our primary car...wife had an SUV, but when needed the BMW did the job.

Bottom line....if your primary car you need 4 doors. Benz M series would be perfect. My wife has a GL550 now and it runs pretty well and is functional, M is a close second and they just came out with a 550 V8 that runs. I sold my first Porsche with first kid....took me 17 years to get another, don't let that happen to you!!

C63 or M3 sedans would be great performance family haulers.

Audi S4/S6 as well but I'm not a fan of AWD.

I've driven both the C63 and M3 and the C63 was more hilariously fun IMO. it's a Mercedes sedan when you want it to be, a 69 Camaro when you want it to be. and it sounds awesome

I've got a C63 sedan. It's a great car! A superb cruiser that can also spit a little fire. Low key exterior. Awesome motor and exhaust. Would make a fine family hauler.

After our son turned 1 and we could have the child-seat frontfacing we sold our wagon and bought a 911.

We don't even have a second car but I do believe if you have a second cheaper car to the short trips and hauling stuff then your 911 will become even more special. I always appreciate my car the most after I drove something else for a bit.

My conclusion stick to your baby and get a 2nd cheaper car if you feel the need
If you want to get a new one, I'd get a m3 sedan
