I did the flush a few weeks ago. Hardest part was getting the car on 4 jack stands and then having the courage to slide under it. I didn't have a pump so I attached a funnel to a piece of tubing and put it on top of a traffic cone to get it to fill. The higher the better.

I set my torque wrench to 30 ft-lbs as the manual stated, but I stopped short of the click. The drain and fill plugs are aluminum and it just felt like too much. It could have been because I was using the 1/2" drive. But I find it curious the the older spec NA011 posted was so much less. Perhaps the new spec is a typo?

Did the drain and fill plugs require a 24mm socket? Keep in mind the torque specs posted above were not for a G97 transmission so they may have different specs.

Post #5 was for the G96 transmission & Post #6 was for the G97 transmission.
Keep in mind the tightening torque value for the engine oil drain plug is 37 ft-lbs.

I put my tools away last week, but that sounds right. I'm taking my torque wrench to work today and checking it's calibration, maybe it was off or I was just paranoid. Let me know how it feels when you torque it.

I changed the fluid on my 2006 997S last week and used Mobil Delvac Synthetic Gear Oil 75W-90 because it is a dedicated track car.

The transmission had a drain plug, but it also had TWO fill plugs on the passenger side of the transmission. My Porsche dealer instructed me to fill to the top of the LOWER plug (the one farthest forward). It took 3 liters (3.17 quarts) as per the manual. Car runs and shift fine.

Interesting to note the tranny had, stamped in two places, MADE IN JAPAN.
