As a comparison I bought a 07 C2S cab last July with 6000 miles, immaculate condition with the right options, and it was a CPO car with 2 years left on the CPO warranty. Paid $64k which I thought was a great deal. Most comparable cars were selling in the 68k to 70k range. You should be in the same price range as what I paid last year for an 08.

That's the range I was thinking. What do you think for a 2009?

Porsche dealers here are still asking for premium on .2 cars. Maybe because not too many are available right now. High 70s to mid to high 80s on 09s.

Seems to me that .2 owners are holding on to their cars.

Another reason not to overpay on a 2008.

It is the old PCM to answer my own question.
wow - buy mine! I've got ~ 8K miles and still CPO'd. I'll take $73K

I was in a similar situation to yours last fall. I felt I had to get into an 09 model year 997.2 for the improvements, and re-sale advantage.

Mid 70k should be enouth for an '09 997.2 S car imho.
Do not even think twice - get '09 car instead of '08.

So far no one had any proof there were any issues with '09 cars and it is '12 now. '09 cars are out there since '08 fall. It was enougth time by now if any issues would be there.

This is my third Porsche, although my first 997. After my second (996 model) I bought an E46 M3, ended up doing some heaving modding including supercharging it - it was beastly. I owned it for 6 years but every time I'd see a 911, especially the 997 it got my complete attention.

I test drove one and I was hooked. My only regret at this point was not buying a "S", and that's only because I got a really good deal on the standard 997. I figured I'd likely go f/i again with TPC's turbo so no big deal. I love the handling and overall performance of the Porsche. Prior to getting the Porsche I thought about the E90 M3 but that notion didn't last long.

Sorry, but not a valid reason. The potential HPFP issue is component-dependent and '09s have no other early issues. And no... I do not own an '09, but I follow this closely.

Having my 09 serviced there was an outstanding re-call for the fuel pump, no replacement just new O rings installed.

I found a 2009 with PDK for around $80k - original MSRP of $119k. They will go lower for non-CPO. Has 9,000 miles. Over the budget I had in mind. Anyone think $75k would be reasonable for CPO- dealer won't budge yet. I hadn't thought of getting PDK but cannot find any low mileage cabs with a manual.
