I had an M3 convertible , then I went back in time to a 91 C4cab, then a 993 turbo, then 2008 C4S, now an 11 C4S. I by far preferred any of those cars to the M3, not there was anything wrong with the M3.
By the way, my former 08 C4S is for sale at the dealer where I just picked up my 2011. (not on consignment - they own it.) Great car - I know you were looking at a cab, but you ought to consider this one...$64k CPO'd

Carmax has a 2012 with 4000 @ $88,000 so no matter $83,000 for a 2008 is not even close! I paid $77,000 for a new 2009 S with sticker of $105,000

with all due respect - it is my opinion, and it IS valid.

you have 997.2 pumpers here saying "oh, go with the '09 .2...much better" and my opinion is that "I stay away from 1st year changes as such" (and just as much I would not own a new 991 either, any variant)

for others to come on here and say "oh, the '09 DFI rumors just aren't true, there haven't been any problems" well, that's bull****, there have been - maybe not catastophic....but still, there have been issues

that's as stupid as 997 owners telling newbies to avoid the 996 because of issues that model has compared to 997. it's my understanding that 997s have issues too, yes, some catastrophic

so if I cannot support my 2008C2S, as much as a 2009 C2S guy supporting his....why the hell is that?

I've found a 2009 cab for $2k less (as a starting point) with 8k miles but it is PDK and I would prefer a manual. Having a hard time finding 09's with a manual. N
Does it need to be a cab? Your paying a premium for that. Also, I'd rather get something with right miles then super low miles, considering the extra you pay and the problems these cars can have from sitting to much.

'Support'? It is an odd position.
9a1 engine is simpler better than M96/M97, that's all. New electronics in a 997.2 car are better too. In most other aspects it is a same car.

I've always wanted a cab - and the kids want me to get one and it is a big selling point for my wife. I know I can get a much better deal on a coupe - and would be able to find a manual. I may end up there if I cannot find a cab though.

That's a valid point. I did find one for less with 22k miles. I'm trying to get the specs.

Do a search of preowned cabs with manual transmission on the Porsche website. There are quite a few listed there. This will also give you a starting point on what dealers are asking for these cars. Good luck with your search.

What do people think is a reasonable discount for a 2011 C2S coupe where the warranty started in Aug 2011 and was sold back to the dealer in November with 4600 miles. Dealer has it for $88k - sticker was mid $100's. Given that whatever is left of new 2011s is around the same price - how low do you think I can get the dealer down to?
