Default Yellow Calipers

Well- I finished it. Took the calipers off my 2005 C2 and had them professionally painted at Stuart's here in Dallas. They look so cool that I am also replacing the rotors, pads, clips, bolts, bleeder valves, and even the little rubber caps.

What do you think?

Wow! Looks really nice. But why did you chose yellow?

To replace those rotors will run how many thousand? Is that silver paint on the rotor?

Looks like the rotor surface was glass bead/or shot blasted.

And look at the even/consistent hole chamfering!

Sincerely,

Macster.

Glad to see that it's not paint! That would be a mess to burn off.

I did the same on a 2002 996. It made a nice contrast on a black car.

The rotors (Meyle from Germany) come with a factory coating that reduces corrosion. As soon as I drive a few blocks, the discs will turn shiny silver.

I chose yellow in order to look a little different from the S's and capture a ceramic copmposite brake look. If that makes me a poser, then guilty as charged!

Costs were very reasonable, since I used sweat equity. Paint 4 calipers: $400. Four new rotors from Vertex: $236. All new pads from Pelican: $190. Spring kits from Suncoast: $74

Cheers.....

My sister one time asked me what was Porsche thinking with 'yellow brakes.' It's all part of their marketing I replied. Sort of silly, but it makes them more money!

Nicely done. My non-S came with reds otherwise I'd consider having mine powder coated the same as yours.
