Old member, first post!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself...I joined 2 years ago when I first wanted to research my childhood dream car, and I'm expecting ownership to become a reality in the next 12-18 months.
I'm looking exclusively at the '09 C2/4S Cabrio with manual transmission.
I've owned two '04 M3 Cabrios since 2007 and its been my favorite daily (first one) and weekend (second one) driver thus far, until I had a '04 C2S Cabrio for 2 weeks as an insurance rental. I absolutely loved that car, and I'm sure the 385HP from the 997.2 will more than satiate my appetite for higher performance (the '04 C2S didn't feel like it had the same oomph as my very heavy M3 vert did, for some reason).
I checked out ebay and there's only ONE car that matches my 997.2/S/MT/Cabrio requirements, and a few on porsche.com's pre-owned inventory that are way over my price range. I'm hoping to get lucky with a one-owner, clean, bone stock car...

Thank you everyone for reading!
Edit:
just realized this is my second post!!! First one was to share my excitement after I rented that '04 C2S Cabrio!!! LOL...

Nice package there. I bought my cab last May. The 2009's seemed to sell pretty fast. Good luck.

So...fast forward almost 8 years later and still didn’t make my purchase! My M3 was parked for most of that time so little time to enjoy cars, unfortunately.
Finally looking to take the plunge into a 997.2 C4S Cabrio 6MT which I’ve been patiently waiting for all these years!
I was hoping I could get some advice from this group on (a) what’s a good offer to make, (b) what are the mechanical/body areas of focus that I should request attention on during a PPI, and (c) what are the most desirable options to have on this car?
The one I’m looking at is a 2009 with 25k miles, Sport Chrono, dealer is asking $55k.
It doesn’t have the adaptive seats or the sport exhaust but I’ve read that those shouldn’t be deal breakers. Hopefully if PPI comes clean, I will formally join the club!
