Default Is PDK still holding up well?

It's time to get a new DD and it looks like plenty of '09's are coming off lease and are available for great prices.

I want a C4S with PDK and I'll be putting ~15k/year on it so I'm wondering if anyone is racking up serious miles on a PDK equipped car?

Also any comments on how the GT2 style sport seats are holding up?

Thanks,

Could not ask for a better transmission for a year round DD. Driven it at both extremes of weather and have 20k miles.

same as others. No worries whatsoever so far. It's not absued, but certainly driven pretty had on occasion and at the same time, it's nice to have the "automatic" feature when in traffic.
Didn't want it initially - glad I got it.

I had an '09 launch C2S PDK. Traded it in with about 23K miles. I did have a problem with it - at about 15K miles I developed a slight fluid leak from the PDK. Under isntructions from PCNA the dealer made no attempt to repair it and simply replaced the PDK in its entirety. That only took a day or two.

I now have an '11 GTS PDK with 15K miles. No trouble whatever. I also have a '10 Panamera 4S, also with PDK. It has about 23K miles, also with no problems at all.

That adds up to 53K miles driving a PDK, albeit in 3 different cars. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one.

My 15K miles on my GTS include about 8 track days and 8 or 9 autocross events. The whole car, PDK included, has been bulletproof. (Not counting rapid wear to the tires and brakes, of course!)

I put 17000 miles on a Cayman S PDK. Traded it in and it ended up in Germany. It's alive and well enjoying the Nordschleife with it's new owner.

I now have an '11' GTS with PDK and thoroughly enjoy the transmission.

A poster on the list 'mdrums' has probably tracked his PDK equipped car more than anyone else. I don't believe he has had any issues.

One year: 8000 miles. No issues.
I'm actually surprised by how much I like the PDK.
While my GTS is not my DD, I would think a PDK would be a must for me in a Porsche daily driver.

All these responses are with cars that have low mileage! Time will tell when 100K miles comes along. JD Powers ratings are also questionable because most Porsche owners have low mileage on their cars. IMHO

Thanks for the feedback, this correlates well with my experience of 50K trouble free miles in an Audi with DSG which is at least similar. I'm seeing DSG Audi's with 100K+ miles still going stromg which is a good sign.

vrnkc, I hear you but I have 50K in a 993, 40K in a 997.1, 10K and counting in a '73 RS. All were driven hard including track time and trouble-free. I feel pretty good about a CPO '09.

Thanks,
Oops....forgot the bucket seats question. Love them. In fact, I will spend (almost) whatever it takes to have them transferred to my next 911. Won't be happy with a regular seat again after getting accustomed to these. Adds another dimension to connecting with the car. Very comfortable too and look brand new after 12,000 miles with a dose of Sonus every other month. Some complain about getting in and out of them but unless you're compromised in some fashion it's not an issue imo. Different but no big deal. You sort of drop into it and rotate out.
