Default 9500ci USB Port

My C4S Cab came with an Passport 9500ci radar/laser system installed by the original owner. It is supposed to have a USB connector hidden somewhere for updating the database (red light cameras, etc.). I have looked high and low for the darned thing but cannot, for the life of me, find it. Anyone have any suggestions as to where this would normally be hidden. Looks like a pretty professional install so I can't imagine they would have left off the connector.

Looks like it is located on the Interface unit. See page 6, 9, & 15.

It all depends on the custom install...mine is located in the fuse box. It's there somewhere...I've seen them in the glovebox, in the frunk and behind the radio stack.

If all else fails, trace all the wires coming off the interface unit that holds the wires from the f/r receivers, etc. The interface should be somewhere in the cabin behind the engine firewall.

I'm having the 9500 ci installed next week and am having a custom mount in the storage area under the factory stereo. Where are your display/control units mounted?

My display is installed in the "ashtray" compartment right next to the hand brake. It is pretty slick, except that it is hard to read it sideways while doing 120 MPH. I have seen some really cool installations where they modify the rear-view mirror to accommodate the display. That is where I would put it if I could.

My control unit is surface mounted above and to the left of the gear selector. I have seen some slick installs where they mount it flush in the same location or directly between the Sport Suspension and Rear Wing switches. The problem with the flush mount is that you loose access to the power button is on the upper side of the control unit. That may not be important to you or me, but it is to my wife!

I hear ya! We are putting in a remote power switch somewhere readily accessible so that I can flush mount it.

Ditto controls here in the ashtray compartment along with on/off button and usb connect in fusebox. Just used the mac beta version of the updater last nite, everything is current now and it worked fine. Instead of permanently modifying my auto-dimming rearview mirror, Benchmark in Seattle did a custom fabricated half-moon integrated flush piece that fits on top of the mirror..its clean and really well done..I need to take a pic of it.

Default 9500 install

Here is my install. I went for a simple/no cut install with high functionality.

I wanted the controller near my right hand so I could cancel the laser jamming capability right after I was illuminated.

I wanted the display in my line of sight so I could see the type/strength of the alert as well as see my actual GPS-based speed.

You'll note the 9500 GPS antenna at the base of the A-piller above the display...this has worked flawlessly.

Best of all, both the display and the controller are attached only by velcro...both can be quickly and easily concealed to keep things very stealthy.
