How much of the car should I cover... Obviously the bumper. Lower part of the hood as well?

Arrested and car impounded for 15 over? Where does that happen?

May be overkill but I keep a spare serpentine belt and a basic socket/wrench set JIC. Cheap insurance when passing thru remote areas with zero p-dealers in sight.

Out of curiosity, are you in a hurry? If not, why not plan a route via some back roads? Maybe a few more opportunities to enjoy what the car is made for.

I love the route from Moab through Monument Valley, then across from Kayenta to Durango. You can take several routes, via Telluride or Silverton to go back north to Vail.

Congrats on the purchase and make sure to take lots of pictures. I was so excited driving mine from Cleveland to Atlanta that I only took one.

Macster's comment about keeping your eyes open is a good one. I bought my first Porsche (80 SC Weissach) and drove it from LA to Lincoln, NE. Crossing Vail Pass in broad daylight, summer time, I looked away briefly on a nearly deserted Interstate and turned my head back to the road to see a, probably, 2 foot stump in the middle of the road (obviously dropped out of someone's truck in the very recent past!). I was able to steer around it but it was a very near miss. It would have been disasterous. I was in hog heaven driving my dream car cross country but that brought my mood down and my attention back to the road in real short order.

The drive will be great fun, be careful!

Hey Dutchie-

Congratulations on your impending purchase and have a great trip home. I live near Boulder and would be very interested in any experience you have had with Denver area dealers or independent shops in your search. I am probably still a long ways off from a purchase but just starting to educate myself. If anything is not fit for public consumption I would welcome a private message or email! Sorry for the hijack,

Best,

Fred

I was very close to buying a car from Stevinson Porsche... They treated me very well, but in the end the car I was looking at didn't have all the options I wanted.

I personally don't have any experience with Prestige Porsche, but I know about 5 people who bought cars from them and they like them.

No experience with indy's in the area.

Have you asked your rep if they install clear bra? Maybe you could have this done as there's still time.

Watch out for bogeys on I-15 as you leave Barstow all the way to Vegas...This stretch is too tempting as you can't wait to get to Sin City. Quite a few bogeys lurk there all the time from both sides.

Good Luck!

Man look forward to a really bad day on the road! The 15 Fwy will be the worst trip of your life with not a chance to open her up! Traffic will be backed up basically all the way to Vegas on a Friday! Good luck!
