As you can imagine by now, there are many 997s out there. Dont jump at anything close to the first ones you see. Take your time.

As an older 911 owner, I know how solid those things are, and these of today benefit from significantly good engineering and manufacturing. But the car you describe sounds like it was ridden hard and put away wet a few too many times.
