Every time I see that it reminds me of the time I was dating a girl and she was painting my living room. She painted right over the light switch and outlet sockets without taking the plates off. She didn't last too much longer after that.

I'm just going to put the "P O R S C H E" emblem on the back of mine. I want it to match the back of my 70 911T for some reason. Don't make fun of the multi colored 70T! As always it is a work in progress and will be for years.

OP - sorry 'bout those fingers - looks painful. Goo Gone is indeed your solution next time.
I vote for "911" or putting the original script back on. Every car deserves having its name on its rear.

Just leave it off for awhile and see how you like it de-badged. Give yourself plenty of time to decide.
Me personally I would probably leave it alone, unless it bugged me, then I would put it back to stock. I would not do anything out of the ordinary and keep it stock.

Check out the new photos in the first post of the thread. I edited the post to include a photo of the new emblem and install instructions.
The visual impact of the P O R S C H E emblem definitely has the effect of widening the rear. The chrome of the letters really matches the chrome in the tail lights much better than the brushed silver of the Carrera S . I could not be happier with the final result.

I got my car a few weeks ago - bugged me b/c the Carrera 4S logo looked too high. Checked the hatch for accident damage or paint and couldn't find anything suspicious before buying. Got the build sheet from Suncoast. My car had the badge delete option. Guessing the 1st owner ordered it that way and the 2nd owner put it on.
I'll be removing it. Less is more and that's how this 997 left the factory.

SBPorsche, I like the block lettering you put on. I assume there are no locating pins in the original lettering?
I think it looks a bit retro but still could be confused for OE to the untrained eye.

OP, I think the "P O R S C H E" lettering you put on looks good. Better than de-badged, I agree. Not everyone is going to like it, but some will. And you like it, which is most important. Stop fretting, and start driving...
