Default 50,000 miles with my best p-car buddy - Coco

I just hit 50K "smiles" with my 2008 C2S. So far I'm very happy with with the maintenance. I've had it for 1 yrs and 4K miles doing my own oil changes along with some preventative replacement items such as s-belt, spark plugs, and coils. I purchased it from the same p-dealer where the 1st owner purchased and maintained it at in So.Cal so I have the car's maintenance history. Nothing out of the ordinary other than an RMS replacement after sitting at the p-dealer lot for a few months.

More importantly it was a great day for my best p-car buddy - Coco. We took our mini dachshund to the vet. He's doing very well 2 wks after his back surgery - has movement again in his hind legs and can walk a bit now. Coco normally enjoys riding in front with me but seemed almost as content in the carrier during our ride to the vet.

Curious as to the maintenance experience of other 997.1 owners with 50K miles or more and if you have a buddy to ride along with you for all the fun.

My buddy Annie the chocolate Lab doesn't ride in the Carrera, the cargo area of the Cayenne is for her, but she does love going for the ride. Mainly just wanted to post to express best wishes and congrats on Coco's good news.

Dogs really love these cars! Best of luck for his recovery. Ditto for my good experiences with over 50,000 miles on the clock.

95k on my daily driver now. Do all maintenance myself.

Only items to fail/replaced have been the PCM head unit, original water pump at 90k and clutch replacement with a LWF at 80k. Plugs and coils, brakes and rotors done at 60k. Oil changes religiously every 5k. These cars are stout and thrive on being driven hard and maintained fastidiously.

Picking up our new 6 week old AKC Shepherd " Duchess " next weekend as my new travel companion. The boys and I cannot wait to get her.

Glad to see others with higher mileage 997.1 doing well. Thanks for the words of encouragement re Coco and for the great pics of your p-dogs. Coco is recovering nicely... even played with a chew tool for the 1st time today during the superbowl game. His favorite - Mr. hotdog.
