Clunk in passenger door
Hey Everybody,
I have a strange problem in my 2010 C4S. Intermittently, usually after sitting for a while, I hear a ka-hcunk in the passenger door when starting the car. It sounds like the window is going down and up, but very quickly. The dealership won't acknowledge it because they cannot make it happen.
Has anybody else experienced this?

This may have absolutely nothing to do with your issue, but it is worth a try because a) it's free and b) takes only 20 to 30 seconds and c) it fits in with jhbrennan's comment about slight window movement when he starts his car.
Retrain your windows so the sensors know where "up" is and where "down" is located. For some reason that I don't understand, modern windows "forget" these locations over time and the sensors need to be reset/retrained periodically. The passenger window on my wife's Mazda would not lower with the driver side button, but it would lower with the button on the passenger door. She took it to the dealer and they "retrained" the window and it has worked properly ever since the retaining.
- Lower the window and keep holding the window button for 4 to 5 seconds after the window is completely down.
- Raise the window and keep holding the window button for 4 to 5 seconds after the window is completely closed.
Repeat a second time with each window.
As I stated earlier, this my have no impact on your "ka-chunk" sound, but it is worth a try.
Let us know how you make out resolving this issue.

So I noticed it happens after sitting for a while. I can see the window move up slightly. Is it possible that the window slightly drops or settles after sitting?
BTW, the dealership says "It didn't happen to us while in the shop". It does it for me all the time. Just another case for lazy service department.
