starting to get an occasional squeal in lower RPM's in 1st and especially 2nd gear. Wondering if this is what my next little repair is going to be. 7th year ownership and 30k miles. Going to check records now.

Super easy to replace on a 997.1 and probably the same on a .2 . While you have the air box off you can check the air filter.

Also check your pulley's for any play while you have the s-belt out.

Has anyone with a 997.2 engine replaced their belts themselves with just a 24mm spanner and flathead screwdriver (for the airbox)? Any issues getting a big arm down in there to route the new belt?
I found the following 997.2 DIY for the replacing the ribbed belt. ( you can view this by joining Renntech for free ) Unfortunately this DIY involves removing the rear bumper cover. I'm not too happy seeing this.
