Default WTB 996/987/997 that needs an engine

I am looking for a water cooled Porsche in need of an engine replacement.

Interested in buying one of the models below...
987 Cayman or Cayman S
or
996 2002+ 3.6 cars (non turbo, non gt3)
or
997 cars all years (non turbo, non gt3)

PM me directly for now.

Hi,

I wanted to PM you but may be you can share here - into what race class are you building into and why you made this decision to base car from 997 street chassis instead of 996/997 gt3 base?
what you r decision to use m96/m97 engine is based on and how do you budget this build? what budget will go on a motor alone?
if you do not feel comfortable discussing it here pls PM me.

PS. for a roller i would contact somebody who trades on manheim auctions, they should have some cars with salvage titles i guess.

Regards,

Basing on a 997/987 street chassis to build a race car. They are classed in PCA club racing, NASA club racing and Grand AM.

The 996 can be run in the above national venues with the exception of Grand Am.

If I were budgeting/planning to go towards a GT3/Cup I would just start with a Cup car. Otherwise you will likely spend more converting a GT3 street car and never be as competitive as a factory built cup car. To run a Cup Car in any of the above venues costs a lot more than a street based chassis. This can be debated for those that enjoy that sort of stuff

As for manheim, I am trying to find a car before it goes to auction and has been passed up 2 or 3 times already. I have access to manheim now.
