If your only consideration is cost of repairs vs cost of a new 991 then you are going to need to keep your 07 C2S for a long time. You can replace a lot of brake pads and thermostats for $100K.

Personally I would consider about 150K miles the point at which I would consider selling a car solely to avoid maintenance issues. That means that if you are driving it about 6K miles/year then you would need to keep it for about another 20 years.

Since everyone's budget is different (and tolerance for an older car) the answer is too complex for this forum. I recall a guy who religiously sold his 911s at between 40-45,000 miles; much as suggested below the 'magic' 50,000 number. I have reluctantly moved mine at around 115,000 miles, each time. But then, I actually drive my Porsche.

Cars do not magically implode at a mileage.

Many parts on cars fail with age (years) depending on exposure to elements like cold, heat, sun, ozone. Even if they are not driven. Rubber seals, synthetic parts, foam seals, and the like.

Other parts wear out with usage/mileage and need replacing, and then are good to go.

If you love the car, keep it.. its better the longer you keep it as the less it depreciates.

If you have a car you don't like, get rid of it now, before you get less back than before, but realize replacing it with the car you do like costs more in all likelihood.

I had the opportunity to look at a 991 Carerra S today at my dealer and the window sticker for the car was a little over $112,000. Your cost for out of pocket repairs will DEFINITELY be less than a 991.
