Default Pioneer Avic-X930BT

Anyone install this or similar aftermarket Pioneer unit in their 997? If so, please describe satisfaction with the unit. Thanks.

I did the Kewood model and REALLY like it. So much better than the OEM. Some of the purests here don't like the idea but so what. Its a great upgrade, not only larger screen but you have BT for handsfree phone and for ipod etc. I've had it for about 3 years and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Also the Nav is head and shoulders above the OEM. If I can help just let me know.

You will probably get more feedback posting this question on 6speed.

I had a Pioneer Avic unit installed along with an amp and aftermarket speakers. It was done by a professional installer and I am very happy with it. Much better performance than the OEM. More features as well.

I put this unit in my 987 - the whole install took me about 12 hrs and wasn't very hard. I have Bose in mine so instead of a new amp and speakers I went with the NavTV unit to get the best sound. Additionally, I also got the aftermarket fascia cover to make the whole thing look pretty stock.

Love having nav + iPod + BT + apps like Pandora all in one place. It's not as good as the sound of the engine but if you have to listen to something else this isn't bad.

Being installed at this moment. Major upgrade from 6-year old factory unit. Phone, iPod, XM, updated Nav, Pandora, Aha, traffic, etc. Hurleys in McLean is doing it. Put one of these in a friend's '02 Targa and he has been very happy. Tempted by Escort stealth install but more than I wanted to spend.
