997 Trivia Thread
#17
Please feel free to contribute some of the most mundane, obscure, 997 info that only someone really **** would ever remember digging up in their user manual....
I'll start. IF you have the sports-chrono option, you can turn on your Daytime Running Lights (DRL) yourself via the main menu (individual memory, lighting) BUT you can only do it when either standing still or at no faster than 5 mph.

For the 997.1 cars, the "DRLs" are the combination of the headlights (low beam) and the fogs (with my new ROTtec front LED lights.) I think the regular DRLs are the headlights only in low beam. (Side lights and rears remain off).
REVISED: With DRLs only my headlights are on, regardless of the new front LED installed.

For Cabriolet owners:
The flip-up rear mesh wind screen gets dirtier faster than you expect. I had to remove mine due to a Home Depot lumber run & I didn't even want to put it in the factory cloth bag. My wind screen is popped up about 20% (when the wife's is the car) of the time when the top is down.
