Bumper Guard Scratch Question?
Good afternoon all,
This morning I did something very stupid .I happen to park my car to close to the garage door and when I raised my garage it scratched the square (plastic or fiberglass) portion of the bumper that sticks out. There is one sguare piece on each side of the bumper. Can those plastic or fiberglass piece be polished. The scratches are not that noticeable but I am ****.If they are repainted it would it show...Hoping they can just be buffed out. Thanks for you help!

I just repainted mine yesterday after I was rear ended gently last month by a woman in a van. One of the bumperettes had a nasty little scar on it, so I filled the indentation with touchup paint but was unhappy with the result. Baser on past experience I ordered a spray can of matched paint from paintscratch.com and some clearcoat and went at it.
I masked off the bumperrette (too much work to remove for such a small project), give it about 3 color coats of Atlas gray and 3 thicker coats of clear, and the sanded it smooth with 2000 grit sandpaper and buffed it out with a random orbital (Menzerna polish) and voila...good as new. Clearly, there is some technique and skill involved to do a seemless job here, and of course the supplies that you have will determine if it may or may not cost less to just go to a shop, but if you have the will, a near perfect repair can be done at home.
less than 24 hours after repair, its the driver side
I don't have a before, but had two fairly deep and nasty gouges and significant paint missing.

They are painted and yes they can be polished. If you can take close up pictures I can probably give you an idea of which products to use. Do you have a random orbital polisher and any pads?

Try the buff/sand route first. If you need 'em redone, let us know.
Yeah, we do that.
