Default 255/285 tire combo.

I'm due for new tires before next spring. Talked to a fellow 997 owner the other day and he had a greate experience on track with a more "square" setup, 255/35 and 285/35 in 18". I beleive he used the new Michelin PSS's. 285/35 is about same in diameter as 315/30 but that I feel is too much rear tire for a Carrera.

What do you guys think?
Also, how much neg camber can PSS tolerate on a 50/50 mix of road&track?

Thanks.

[EDIT: typo]

I think I know where your friend got that idea, but I have a policy of not teaching racing techniques on line. He really needs to put the correct tires back on the car and get some hands-on instruction at PSDS or Skip Barber or Bondurant or... one of those.

Seriously. No joking.
