Default Putting 295s on 11.5" rim - bad news?

Really like the XRR (Carrera Sport wheels) but I just bought my Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires about 2,500 miles ago (295 in the back) and dont feel like shelling out another $800 for two new rear tires.

I hear (via Wheel Enhancement) that the MPSS tires run a tad wider and that my 295s would fit but look a little stretched. Anyone have a pic of a 295 on an 11.5? Or I am just going down the wrong path here?

Really want the XRRs but don't want to waste the 295s I currently have

It'd be stretched out a bit, not sure how bad until you mount em. I can tell you that many would like to buy rear tires at a discount to match front tires that wear half as fast, so you *might* be able to salvage some of the cost by selling those.

Maybe put a feeler's ad to see if there's any takers.

The sectional width of 295/30/19 is 11.9 inches, you'll be fine...

Take this for what it's worth. I checked specs for both Michelin and Pirelli 295x30x19 tires on the Tire Rack web site. The recommended rim width range for that tire is 10"-11".

295 tire has stock rim width range of 10-11 inches. you can easily go 1 inch wider or less on almost any tire, there are little exceptions. 275 tire sits ok on a 9" rim. 295 will sit fine on 11.5. ride your tires, it is better to use them than to sell with a loss.

for a next tire set get 245/305 sizes.

Hey Cams, does it look wierd up close or does the lip stick out? It actually looks pretty good from the pic, similar to a 305. Any other adverse effects?

I don't feel it does. Its not like the tires are "stretched" you know how some people run narrow tires on wider rims...nothing like that. If anything the tire could be a little more "vertical" against the face of the rim but as you can see above its fine.

I'd run your 295's and then go to 305's. However that being said I have seen some 305's look like they are bulging on the rim...rounded sidewall at the face of the rim. You know what I mean?

A half of an inch is nothing. It's not a factor. Just get the 305s next time.
