For $1200 those giro disks better last 3x as long as the stock rotors!
drdrank. Can you send me a PM on the price of the Alcon 997-s front set?
In terms of wear, cracking etc, How many sets of say pagid yellows would I be able to run on that disk if right now I get 2 to 1 on the stocks?

keep in mind that the PFC's & GiroDisc will require you to modify your Pagid pads (front only) to fit the Hats.

As for the Alcon you will get almost the 3x you are looking for... This really depends on a number of variables... your braking style, amount of cooling to the rotors are just a few.

LC Motorsports...the Giro Disc rotors do not replace the caliper so the same pad as stock sizes will be used from what I've been told.

The PFC's had to be bought with hat + rotor the first time around. On replacement, just need to buy the disc. The pads actually don't need to be altered, which is part of the reason why I went PFC. The Brembo's require special shaped pads. Same with Girodisc I believe. Not sure on Alcon.

Ok well I know for sure the Brembo's require a special sized pad. PFC does not.

The Caliper is not the issue with GiroDisc... Its the Hat Dia that doesn't clear the inner dia of the pad shape and you need to machine the arc larger so it will clear that hat (same cases with the StopTech). The PFC's are in the same spot (on certain configuations), unless you use the PFC pads. Pagid pads need to be modified to clear the hats. I have several clients that buy Pagid pads that we custom cut for them.

Alcons were the best rotors I came across. I wore a slotted set to the bottom of the grooves on my GT3S 944T and they still had no worrisome cracks. Best can sometimes also be the cheapest over the long haul.
