Solid Rotor (Non Drilled) Options for 997-S
What choices are out there for non-drilled rotors (Preferably as cheap as the stock ones) that fit on the 997-S? Also, where to buy them? I want something that won’t crack so easily. (I know solids also crack, but it doesn't seem as bad)
After 1 set of pads they are somewhat cracked, by the 2nd set of pads, they seem quite done. A few GT3 guys told me they are now running Solid Cayenne rotors, but I guess on the 997-S that would require changing the caliper.

FWIW, solid rotors do not dissipate heat as efficiently as vented rotors. I don't know what you or your GT3 friends could be thinking that solid rotors are a viable solution. How many race cars do you see running solid rotors? Unless the sanction body requires and OEM set up that included solid rotors as OE then I would none, nada, zip.

Brembo slotted - YAY!!!!

brembo is expensive. gyrotech makes good rotors, other reasonable option is DBA rotors. also by 'solid' you mean - slotted, not drilled. they all have vents in the middle, they are not solid metal pucks.

Solid as in not Drilled. Still with vents in the middle. Sorry for that confusion......
Where is a good place on-line to buy DBA rotors? CDOC doesn't have them in 997-s? Others same issue.
I probably should mention one of the problems I'm having finding rotors is I can easily find GT3 rotors, 996 rotors, 997 rotors, but 997s rotors seem pretty elusive.

Mine's 15K miles, 7-8 track days, using Ferodo 2500 pads which are Race/Street pads (much harder than stock) and got no issues!

Cracking enough to toss out after 2 sets of race pads. Paid yellows or carbotech xp12s. Maybe after 12 track days.
I think that happens to most folks after 2 sets of race pads and hard track driving.
Problem is I can't locate cheaper non drilled rotors for the 997-s size.
Even the link from the last post you will notice no listing for the 997-s
The 997-s is a 330x34. Should be the same as the 996 turbo. Hard to find.
The 997 is a 318x28 Lots of choices here
Back to the gt3, I think some of them are using the 350x34 non drilled cayenne at $90 a pops and they don't crack as bad.

We carry Alcon slotted that fit your car as well as a OEM version made by Sebro that is Slotted. The Sebro's that fit your car are do in from Germany in about 3 weeks. These have been tested on our race car and work fantastic...
Personally, I think the Alcon's are far superior the Brembo and the GiroDisc even the Stop tech stuff. While the DBA are nice rotors, they are hard to find and are phasing out many of the size's that run on the rears of the P-cars.

Jared the least expensive option for non-drilled rotors for your Carrera S are Giro Disc slotted rotors. They fit right up to the stock calipers but are actually just a tad bigger than stock. $2400 for a complete set or $1200 for the fronts. RSS and others stock them.
