For those of you that store your car in the winter months, which "battery tender" do you like and why?

When I find my car, I will be storing it about 3 or 4 months a year.

I use the Battery Tender Plus and love it. I purchased my first Battery Tender back in 2000 for my Ducati 996 motorcycle which is still being used today. I now have 3 of them for my bike, boat and cars. The reason I like them is because its a quality built item that will last for years, you just plug and forget.
I have heard to many people complain about the CTEK Chargers and how they stopped working after a year or how the charger got very hot. (I dont know if they made a bad batch or what?)
With the Battery Tender Plus you can purchase the Cigarette Lighter Adaptor or use the Hardwire Harness. I use the Hardwire Harness on all my batteries so it only takes 2 seconds to plug in the tender.

The battery tender plus is the way to go.
I use one both of my street 911's, one on my Harley and one on my 73 911 race car. All are hard wired which makes hook up a breeze.
They work great. I wouldn't even consider any other brand.
It's a no brained in my opinion.......

I use the Save a Battery plus, it's worked flawlessly, it can be hard wired and it has a number of other features that you don't see on more basic tenders.

I recommend the models from CTEK. The 3300 is the exact same unit rebranded and sold by Porsche, but Porsche charges twice as much for it.

I have one of each and both are set up to charge the battery directly with a quick connector. I have had zero problems with heat or other reliability issues and the units are covered by a 5 year warranty.

ctek 3300 us...if you ever get an Optima battery this is what you want. I also believe it has the best logic of all of them.

In some 25 years of not driving, mostly, my Porsche(s)(***) during the winter months I have never found need for a battery tender. On rare occassions of finding the battery dead, door ajar, etc, a "jump" or standard charger has worked fine.

there are certainly varied expert opinions out there, but both my dealer and my indy agree that 3 weeks is a long time to go hoping that the battery holds enough charge to turn over the engine, and despite the fact that the owner's manual on my 997.2 walks you through the jumping process, both advise against jumping the battery.

I have several Schumachers 2amps chargers that I bought at Walmarts for less than $25.

The charger BMW sells seems to be the same as the Battery Tender but with a cigar lighter plug. I use mine on the P-car and it works great!

Agree – I also have two CTEK and zero problems.

I use the battery tender (the small one) and it works great. Holds the battery at about 12.7 volts. I hard wired it (with fuse on hot side) to the battery and bought the extension from the web site (they only have an 8? footer). I ran the wire over to the passenger side so it exits next to the frunk lid hinge. The unused wire sits coiled up under the plastic cover. So all I need to do is plug it in whenever. Do need to be careful not to pinch the connector when opening the frunk but if you pull the connector out a little it is out of the way.

I have a Granite Digital. I like the voltage display and the status LED's because they let me know where I stand and it makes it easier to use it as a conditioner. The size because it is pretty small. The color because I always see it and don't step on it. And that it has been completely flawless so far...
