Quick question for those in the know. With all the IMS discusssion floating around I got interested in what and when my engine was built. My 2006 997.1 has a 09/05 build date (per drivers door sticker) and the engine I can see is a M97 (rear right corner) but these is also a circle diagram in the casting that looks like it may be the build date of the engine. Anybody know on how to read this? TIA.

Don't worry about the IMS discussions. It's more a factor for the 3.6 engines.

You indeed might have the old IMS design, but as Dan said the issue is mostly around 3.6 cars.

BTW, did u goto Bob's bfast? I don't remember seeing you this weekend?

you are not right - IMS module was same on early 2005 m96 and m97 and they all can grenade same way.

Yes it was, I went on a second driver later on the day too, when it got warmer and sunny. Didn't go as fast, but still was fantastic!
