Although it does NOT get all the oil from the 3.8 (since no dipstick tube) it gets most of it so when I do pull the plug I only have to deal with a few quarts.
Where are you feeding the extraction hose into to get most of the oil out (without removing the oil drain plug) ?

Filler neck but it takes a bit of fishing. Still better than all that oil rushing out.

I have to laugh when I read this!

Years ago when we had a good 14 quarts of oil coming quickly out of the oil reservoir behind the right rear wheel we had quite a time dealing with it. 8 quarts is nothing! Adopt a large mouthed container, something like the size of a cut-down 5-gallon paint bucket, or something you would steam clams in!

Yep...I served my time with a '76.
Bought it because 13 quarts of diesel oil ain't nothing to laugh at. Plus on the V10 the filter is on top so no need to even crawl underneath.

Hook up the extraction pump to power, fish the tube in as far as it will go, flip a switch, grab a drink (or do something else on the car).
While under the car changing the filter I have about 2-3 quarts to drain including the filter...no jacks, ramps, or huge tubs of oil to drain.

I have a 2009 C4S - am changing the oil right now. Don't torch me, I'm a new owner doing this for the 1st time....but I can't find the filter housing. Expected it to be adjacent to the oil pan. Where is it?

In the new car I think they are changed from above...not the bottom as before next to the pan. Look to the right side above the air filter. Need a filter wrench or proper ratchet lug to open up the plastic cover then the oil filter is easily assessible.

In the engine compartment right side. 36mm socket recommended.
