it`s quite a factor when you get into copetition level where you need to buy new set of tires for every event. it adds up. plus selection of 18" rubber was historically better than in 19". i guess it may change if all gt3 cars will be coming with 19" stock rims now. my gut guess is that 18" is probably more optimal than 19" for performance no matter what but if stock suspension was designed to compensate those 19" shortcomings then car will probably be better on wheels it came with stock.

when you take all stock suspension bits out and rebuild it from scratch then nothing of that applies anymore.

I wanted the 18" wheels. Every 2007 base 911 I researched had the 19" wheels without PASM, as did the car I finally bought. Those rare times when I have to slow down for speed bumps, expansion joints and railroad tracks are a small price to pay. The car is simply terrific.
