Are you refering to only 997's?

Every 997 has had the tilt option steering wheel since '05.

I couldnt remember if the tilt started with the 997 or a year or two in. I have a 996 now and kicking around the idea of upgrading. I"m 6'2" and have more length in my torso than my legs and id be more comfortable if I could tilt the wheel up a little.

Thanks

Yes, every 997 will have the tilt option.

I am 6'4" and the 997 is a very comfortable driver's car for people with height.

You will absolutely love the changes that Porsche made with the introduction of the 997. Enjoy your search.

In 1977, the 928 came out with an adjustable steering wheel. (In fact, the entire dash full of gauges moves as well with the wheel). That was the first time for a Porsche.

I had an '04 C2 Coupe for 3 years 3 months. I was Porsche-less for 3 years 3 months. I recently bought a 2010 C2S. I am 6' 3" and I like the tilt wheel. While it doesn't tilt a lot, it is just enough to make a difference.

There are a lot of upgrades/refinements on the 997.2 (2009 - 2012) versus the 996. I debated long and hard between a few 2008 (997.1) cars with Full Leather and good options and a couple of 997.2 cars (2009 and 2010) with Standard Leather and the options I wanted.

In the end, the 997.2 won out over the 997.1 models. The main reasons I went with the 997.2 were; 1) the new 9A1 engine with DFI, 2) the fact that this engine does not have an Intermediate Shaft, so no IMS issues 3) the refined PASM suspension, and 4) the upgraded PCM and Navigation with touch screen.

Hope this helps.

Do you find the 997.2 significantly better than the 997.1? I am curious of the changes, besides the black dash.
