Guys,

I was wondering if anyone has tried a wider front tire (245/35R19 vs. 235/35R19) on their GTS or C4.

Objective is to have a bit less understeer and perhaps a knats *** more traction....

info on general effect of differential in tire widths in the 911 wide body models (235/35R19 and 305/30R19) is appreciated...

I am about to get a new set of tires - probably Stones.

I have a TC Design Fab alignment on my GTS which now which is great and has dialed out most of the understeer already.

Some have tried with good success... however, I first look into alignment to reduce understeer before jumping to bigger tires.

the front tire sizes are the same for both wide and narrow bodies. I also heard track guys using 245 and some 255 w/ good success. In the real world i wouldnt go any wider than 245s.

I put 245.3519 and 305.30.19 Super Sports on my 09 C2S. I like the combination.

I've done this in the past with my C4S. It shouldn't make much of a difference. I'm very sensitive to every change on my car and changing to 245s from 235s was not too noticable. Others have noticed a change in earlier kicking in of ABS for some reason, but I never did. It will not hurt your car and if you notice a difference with less understeer, then bonus.
