Sorry to miss the drive. I was one of the 8000 cyclists (7000 actually) racing to Whistler on Saturday. Slept until 9:00am on Sunday...
Maybe see you guys on the 24th though.

Nice... I knew there was a great drive up there. So with stops a good 2-3 hrs round trip. Is the risk of falling rocks somewhat controlled this late in the season?

1.5 hrs round trip max. Little to no falling rocks since the upgrade for the 2010 Olympics. Just an awesome road now. Time permitting you could extend up to Whistler. Duffy Lake road? Incredible.

Well, I was factoring in a few stops along the way to admire some of the spots.

That's a nice drive.

My buddy took me up there in June. Saw 4 black bears.

Would have been better in a Porsche.
