I predict that the 997 models will be seen to be the nicest looking of the near-modern "911" cars--much like the 993s have been recognized by the air-cooled crowd. What's not to like about a car that looks like yours??

About 25,000 miles on the clock for the three years. Atlas Grey, Stone Grey top, with Black/Stone Grey interior. It is my daily driver, but since I'm retired it doesn't get driven every day!

Yep, it's the major reason I bought my new GTS and didn't wait for the 991. IMHO the 997 is just right and regardless of model year will age well. I think the 997 captures the classic 911 silhouette and esssence perfectly. Even my wife comments on how "classic" the 997 looks. Hey, I've got to keep her happy, right?
