My thought is that you are going to love it. I got a MY11 C2 two months ago. I am still infatuated with the feel of the car. Your CS is well equipped and you are making a quantum upgrade. Take the plunge.

Since you posted yesterday that you would be getting the new Carr S today, I expect NOT to hear from you for some time! Enjoy! Get back and report when you can, but don't forsake a drive with that car just to tell us anything!

So I drove 6 hours to get the car, grabbed a quick bite, and drove 6 hours back. Needless to say, I was pretty tired. But driving the C2S back was awesome. Here are my initial impressions in comparing the C2S w/ 6MT to a 2009 Cayman S w/ PDK:
1) Interior: Pretty much the same, except now I have some rear seats to put stuff for work within reach. However, I kinda miss the Full Leather in the Cayman S compared to the standard leather in the C2S.
2) Transmission: The PDK was nice as a daily driver, but the 6MT is a lot more fun to drive. Although, I really don't like having the triangle icon show up on the display when the car thinks I need to shift gears.
3) Ride: Both are as comfortable, even though the C2S has 19" wheels and the Cayman S had 18" wheels. Call me crazy, but I can definitely "feel" the engine in the rear of the C2S while turning versus the mid-engine placement for the Cayman S. In this regards, I have to give the nod to the Cayman. Much better balance in turns.
Overall, I'm totally ecstatic as this has been a dream to own a 911 for the longest time.
I've learned a lot from this forum and hope to be able to learn and contribute in the future.

I noticed that triangle for the first hundred miles after we picked up our 2009 C2S, then it just disappeared in the background noise. That's gotta be some kind of sop to fuel efficiency fanatics because it indicates 'upshift' when I'm going speeds like thirty in fifth. I played with it once and did manage to get the triangle turned off in gears less than sixth, but it takes outrageously low-speed shifts. Everytime I do notice it, or when someone calls it to my attention as you just did, I thank God that's all I have to endure to buy a car from the country where the Greens are so powerful. What if to placate them Porsche painted all our instruments that horrible radioactive edamame green they use in car shows? How would we tolerate the car spending a week in an instrument shop getting the faces all changed?
As for the engine location, I'm sure you'll learn to love the feel. I came to Porsche from an NSX and they feel even more emphatically mid-engine than the Cayman we tested.
Great looking car... of course, it looks just like mine except for the wheel choice.
