Lightbulb Leather treatment products

Years ago I used to buy "Hide Food" from jaguar dealerships. This was not a Jaguar bottled product, but something from a specialty UK maker. The best leather treatment product IMO. This is no longer available (at least in Toronto).
I'm sure better and cheaper specialized leather products can be found compared to seemingly overpriced bottled products from the P dealer.

Any suggestions?

Do either of these products leave a shine on the leather? A shine is what I'm not looking for.

I use Lexol. Can be found at most auto parts stores. Leaves no shine.

Sonus Leather Conditioner. No shine, natural look, used as recommended.

P.S. - I would never use Lexol. Lexol does leave shine on Porsche's very low-sheen leather surfaces.

I also use Sonus leather cleaner and conditioner. Gives the leather a darker more supple look to it. Leaves a little shine after application, but evoparates quickly thereafter, leaving a more natural, darker or more rejuvinated look to the leather.

I suspect you are using too much material. It should be applied lightly and buffed/dried right away. No shine, no color change.

Babakp, "Hide Food" was made by Connolly of England. It was later renamed "Hide Care". The co went under but it's still available. try amazon. Hide care is more of conditioner rather than a cleaner and goes on fairly thick. My personal favorites are Leatherique and leather masters. These are a little more involved are are consider "premium" grade. A friend use SONAX cleaner & conditioner all in one and loves it. I've also used the lexol and frankly think its good quality for under $10. It does leave a the leather a little shiny.

I think you're right. Will try less next time and see.

I use a couple of leather products from Griots Garage. They work well and there seems to be a lot of great cleaners and conditioners out there.

Leather master is what I use. Used to use Leatherique to very good results, but it's messy and smelly and takes all day. Leather Master goes on pretty quickly and is similarly functional! It's not cheap but a little bit goes a long way. I use Lexol for quick cleanings.

"Hide Food" lol! When I first read that I thought it meant that if you spilled food on the seats, it would hide the stains.

Guess I shouldn't be on-line after a couple glasses of wine.
