Quoting the OP "...This is the part that may make many Porsche purist or owners alike cringe. My car will be a daily driver including the winter. We only get a few dumps here in Toronto and it never stays on the roads for more then a day or two. Those days I can drive the wife's car to work..." This forum has lots of us that drive these cars every day, rain/snow/ice/sun/sand, etc. There are certainly some cringers, but I think you'll find this place a great source of validation for these cars being used as daily transport/utility wagons.

i do not even think it is good thing to have below 10K miles on a '06 car - that means car was not driven much in its life and spent most time in garage with no maintenance. it`s bad for seals, rubber bushings and other things.

Guys, these are C4S' and cabs so premium applies to both caveats. I've been watching the market for over a year now and the price differential the OP and others are seeing is not that unusual.

$75K for a 2007 car? Is it crazy or what? any '06 car above $45K is a total madness. $75K should buy clean '09 997.2 PDK 'S' car today.

Get the car you want and enjoy it. If you can negotiate a better deal on one or the other remember to factor in snow tires too so can enjoy your 4S year round. Maybe get some aftermarket wheels U like and use current for the snow season if U don't size down for the winter. Just a thought. The AWD setup changed in 09 in case U did not know.

Thanks for all the suggestions and I appreciate those who have been looking and realize that this is what they go for.
Seapar - That's exactly what I was thinking in regards to tires. Keep the original wheels for winter and aftermarket wheels for summer. I really want an 09 but it's out of my budget. I can probably go as high as 80 but I can't find an 09's.
I was thinking of holding out and finding one from a Porsche dealer and paying the extra $5-6k for a certified pre-owned. Do you think it's worth the extra money to get that warranty?

WOW
1) Alexb76 - How do you know the black car is from the US? I was told it was a Canadian car, one owner and the guy traded it in for a Turbo. To import from the US we only pay the Ontario 13% tax and I can get it imported for $2500 shipped so when I search I'm checking all of Canada and the US.
5) Gary - when I was at Porsche Toronto the sales guy said you can add on anything for a price. I got the impression the console and sport shift were going to be crazy expensive but if it's manageable then it's can just get added to my to-do list.

#5. I actually advise AGAINST getting the short shifter. I wanted to swap mine and got many negative feedbacks about the Porsche short shifters, although some happy with it, most have said it makes shifting harded, specially going into Reverse as its too close to first gear. The cost is btw $500. The console is a bit harder to retrofit, there are companies that do a good job paininting the center console, but not sure about CF. The center console painting would cost $500 or so (can't quite remember).

there's a real 997 C4S shortage out there, let alone ones specked out the way you want it. Ignore the people who think it's too much money. they are not in the market so clearly they are ignorant. I just traded in C4S for a Turbo and the dealer really wanted the C4S badly. I'd take Option #1 if you don't mind not getting the coolest porsche color combo black on black.

Looks like the '07 is rolling on a set of Champion RF67s. These aren't cheap.

Also looks like the '07 has a CD changer and heated power seats. You can add a sport shifter, carbon trim and 5mm wheel spacers later if you really want them. You can't retrofit Bose and parking sensors, not cheaply anyway. I'd buy the black car since it's the colour that you really want.

Just know that if you take the advice of some and wait for better prices, you'll hear the same song and dance after the wait is over no matter how long the wait. It never gets cheap enough for some here. Also, seems like a few are making direct comparisons between US and Canadian prices.
