Opinions requested on Price of a 2010 C2S **Updated with Rev Range info post #38 **
I have found a pre-owned 2010 C2S that I am very interested in and wanted to get some feedback on the price. It is not heavily optioned but it has most of the options I wanted. The couple of options that are missing can be easily, if not cheaply, added after purchase.
Since color choice and desired options are subjective, I am not looking for comments either way on the color, or on the options. Based on the car the way it is, do you think this is a fair price?
2010 C2S Coupe
Meteor Gray
Stone Gray Standard Leather
Just under 3,000 miles
CPO until 9/5/2016
870 - Universal Audio Interface
810 - Floor Mats in Interior Color
686 - XM Radio
680 - Bose High End Sound Package
672 - Navigation Module for PCM
P15 - Power Comfort Seats w/Driver Memory
603 - Dynamic Cornering Lights
342 - Heated Front Seats
267 - Self Dimming Mirrors
619 - Bluetooth Phone Interface
Negotiated price = $78,500.
I would appreciate any and all comments regarding the price. Thanks!

Clearly, I think it's a fair price. An excellent price in fact. I won't comment on the beautiful color choices because you said we should not.

Here are the 2010 C2S models up for sale on cars.com, autotrader.com, ebay and porsche's own dealer listings. Hope this helps...

Gary,
If I recall correctly, you bought your car new. WOW, you got a great deal on your car. Thanks for the comments, and for those you didn't make.
I think you understand that I didn't want this thread to turn into a "well, I'm not feeling the (chose one) ....color...options.... on the car" thread and move away from the price question.

Thanks Marc. I hope the BMW 7 works out for you. Hopefully, some day you can come back to a Porsche. Just curious, did you consider a Panamera along with the 7 Series?

Indeed I did -- looked at a whole bunch of cars before making up my mind. The top runners were the Cayenne S, the BMW 7, and the new BMW 6 Coupe, which won't be out for a few weeks yet. The BMW 5 series was also a contender, but there weren't many around to really consider. Comfortable seating was a very strong priority, to let the inflammation in my lower back settle.
The Panamera drove with grossly similar properties to the 911 -- a very aggressive car, with lots of precision, power, and passion. A more GT experience than the Carrera S, but a very focused and engaged driving experience that would have been more work (more fatiguing) than a "flagship" sedan experience over a long drive. It also didn't have the comfort of the cars I listed above.
The Cayenne S was really fun on the first drive, but my second test drive of it didn't impress all that much. It's a very comfortable car, and I imagine one can equip it for a very sophisticated ride. Would love to drive one with the double-pane glass and PASM, the air suspension, and full leather, for instance. But that gets to be a lot of $ for an SUV, and the one I drove, with a Sand Beige standard interior, just looked kinda crappy. Those Sand Beige interiors don't have the value-feel consistent with the brand, IMHO.
That 2010 Carrera S was the best driving car I've ever driven. THe engine had really broken in well, and was SO smooth up to redline, and the car was the most controllable I could imagine.
"I'll be back."
Cheers,
Marc

I'm guessing the MSRP is right around $100K. No PDK, no SC plus. So $78K seems good - 22% off. I wouldnt say its an incredible otherwordly deal as others are saying but a good deal nontheless. Its very fair. CPO is attractive as are low miles. Its basically a brand new car. I got almost almost 20% off my car brand new, but things were a little worse in 2009 and there were better deals out there. This on the other hand is a year+ old.

It's a great price for that set of options. Enjoy!

Thanks to all of you that offered your opinions. Before starting the thread, I thought it was a good price, not great, but pretty good. BTW, the $78,500 price is the "drive out" price.
That said, I put a deposit down on the car earlier this evening.
If all goes well, it will be mine next Friday.
