I am trying to touch up the interior to take care of all those little dings and scratches that accumulate over time. Any idea on how to touch up the black rubber controls on the A/C. I thought of a black felt pen, but that seems like it would just rub off on my fingers when I went to use the ****

thanks

Plastic Dip comes in a spray can so if you can get the ***** off, you can spray on a light coat of this. I've used it in the past on the radio ***** in a 986 that as the factory coating would always get gummy. It worked great.

thanks for quick feedback, but I don't think **** will come off without a lot of work. I was looking for something like a "pen type" applicator

You might be able to use duct tape or some covering that can stick to the *****/buttons. I don't know which 997 you have (PCM 2.1 or PCM 3.0 for 997.2), but that could be a better idea if the ***** don't come off too easily.

Wondered how to do this myself. The "top coat" on the A/C controls seems to rub off very easily. I know (because I did it myself) you can order replacement PCM rotary ***** from Suncoast (inexpensive) but as for A/C...might have to remove/disassemble front painted cover to gain access to "slider" buttons..

If you do find a good repair method, please do share with the group, you are not alone on this.

Permanent black marker. Quick dry; will not rub off, even with sweaty fingers. Used it successfully on our Touareg’s *****. Fine tips allow for more precision.

I don't understand how these ***** are flaking off. Is this a 2005 issue?

My 2006 is like new inside. Of course, I wear leather driving gloves all the time (inside and outside of the car ) and the stereo has been set on the horrible Nickelback, Life House, and Jason Mraz station since new.

i like the marker idea.

By the way, mine is a 2007. While I don't wear gloves, I try to be real careful
