Any possibility you can post some pics/video with the illuminated at night?

Personally, I don't want to do anything to draw more attention to my license plate, or make it more readable at night.

From playing with HID and LED in the past few years, you want color temperature of 4800-5300K to have the stock white light effect. 6000K will be slight blueish, while anything higher are just too blue.

Here's a shot of my license plate LED lights from Hoen. I personally thought they are a bit on the bright side, but a fellow Porsche buddy with a new BMW told me that his Bimmer is just as bright--also uses LED in that application. I still may toy with the idea of adding a layer or two of window tint over the lens covers, just to tone it down a little more.

Dan: If you have to reduce the brilliance, what will be the net change from stock lights?

On another topic, do you have any fog bulbs in your tail lights? I do, and when my lights are on they light up too (on one of their 2 filaments).

If I reduce the brilliance a bit I would say that I would have (1) a color temp change toward the whiter light and (2) still have more lumens than the stock bulbs.

I have a rear fog light on the left side. However, it comes on correctly with the rear fog switch. Look for the thread that explains the mistake the rear LED manufacturer provided as installation instructions. I dealt with that same issue myself until I sorted it all out.

Thanks Dan. I'm pretty sure I made the right correction to the original wrong directions for socket locations in the LED tail light assembly. Everything works fine except the rear fog. I presume your fog light bulb and socket (white) have 2 contacts? If it is only supposed to light up when headlight switch is in rear fog position, what is the second contact for? Are you using an LED bulb or a red incandescent bulb?

I am using a RED Incandescent bulb that they sent to me. (I supposed it could have been LED but they designed it around an incandescent).

Try to find the CORRECT instructions. When I followed their original instructions I got the same (bad) results that you got. (In fact, the bayonet connections appeared loose to me). Find that other thread where it gets sorted out. Someone sent me an image that helped me get it right.

Look at the LAST image of this set--I believe that is the RIGHT way for it to go together.

Oh yeah! Now I remember, I forgot to tape off one of the contacts on the bulb. Thanks.

Thanks Dan. I applied the tape to one of the contacts on the fog bulb, and everything works properly now. Appreciate the assistance.
