Question Fuel Pump Shutoff

Hello all...

2010 C2S.

Let the fuel level get down to fumes today.

When I went to fill up tank, the fuel pump keeps shutting off.

I feathered about half a tank in.

i know I have read the answer to my problem before but can't recall solution.

Thank all in advance.

I do not see what that has to do with a low fuel tank. In any case, when fueling, rotate the fuel handle 90 degrees so that the it is aligned along the rear-to-front direction of the car.

Most importantly, in modern cars, it's not a good idea getting below 1/8 of a tank (1/4 even better).

There is an service procedure (when you take it to the dealer) for the Porsche to fit a small black plastic collar around the fuel filler hole that will offset the nozzle a bit further out of the tank that should alleviate that shut-off issue with the new sealed filler nozzles becoming the norm in gas stations. Take the car by the dealer and as the service manager about it. They may be able to just install that thing in 5 minutes.

If its an older gas nozzle, positioning or rotating the nozzle, as described, can fix the issue as well.
