Default laser tamer?

Anyone familiar with this company, they are developin fiber optic lines to allow for stealth install of laser diffusers.....curious to get thoughts, at least on theoretical basis, of how efficient/reliable this would be.

Here is where I have the front shifter mounted - I decided not to recess any further back. I am told that ideally, they should probably be pulled forward out even more than they are...

My only concern is that the front end units are not stealthy. In many states any active (or even 'passive') anti-laser defense tool is illegal. As such, any installation would best be served with something much more hidden. A 997 doesn't afford many hiding places! Also, the optimal location for such a devise is immediately near the highest laser targets--either the front plates or either headlight. These are highly reflective objects and the most preferred aiming point for law enforcement officials using LASER.

I am not familiar with that company--your link only takes me to two photos.

Best of luck!

I have been in contact with the two guys who are designing the system. They are perfectionists. They probably won't post a release date until they are satisfied with testing results with retail production units. Keep your eye on their website. I don't think they will release any more information until they are ready to sell retail units. They don't participate on RD.net, because they were banned for a stupid reason, then were asked to come back by Roy himself. They told him no. Keep an eye on radardetectorforum.org.

Expect when laser tamers does come out it will knock your socks off and change the laser jamming game.

Time will tell. Small market with a big cost of admission if you are a start up company. Only a handful of providers exist in this niche market. Blinder, laser intercept, and escort. Not sure how much room is left dispite their stealth design for another laser/lidar jammer. Espcially in this economy.

Illegal in 10 states. Who cares how stealth the heads are if you reside in one of the 40 legal states as laser jammers are your only defense to Lidar. I don't have a picture of them on my 997 but on my 993 even car buffs rarely noticed and/or inquired about the heads.

even if you dont live in a state where they are legal, if they are noted during a stop, you will get a ticket. you will not go to jail. its not a criminal offense. no points. versus, ticket, and points......

Mark - I believe the laser tamer idea is to allow for adaptation to an existing laser diffusing system (blinder, escort etc) so not a direct competitor....can anyone else verify this..
