Will this key work once cut and programmed by the dealer

Yes, it will work...but it's a little more than what Suncoast (see my links) would charge for the case and the blade. I'd rather buy direct from dealer than on eBay.

done the surgery twice now. getting the hang of it. im curious to know if anyone was able to do this while not destroying the donor key? the 997.1 keys porsche uses loads of crazy glue unlike the 997.2 key where they barely use any.

Don't disagree about dealer but I need the entire key, transponder and case and that eBay link is all three for a decent price. I will ask my dealer about it
Thanks

question hella-buggin... how much does it cost from a dealer to do the re-programming?

Default circuit board

So my old key broke in half some time ago. I lost the circuit board but it was still functioning to start the car since the transponder was in. I bought a used key off of ebay and replaced the transponder unit as well as the key blade. Now I only have the circuit board from the used one that I bought (my original circuit board is lost). How can I program the circuit board to open my doors electronically? I'm having No problem starting and driving the car seeing that I successfully transferred the transponder unit. But now I just have to figure out how to make a circuit board work. Do I have to get it programmed at the dealer? is there any other way to do it?

You'll need a new circuit board from the dealer

Default I have the same problem: Lost circuit board

I have a 997.1 and I lost the circuit board. The key still works, but what is my best option in getting a new circuit board to lock/unlock?

Thanks!

I've done three of the key guts swaps now as well, 2 last evening in about 30 minutes. The new keys feel so much nicer than the old material. It's definitely worth the minimal cost and effort and not to have to deal with reprogramming. Silicone holding the transponder is drying as we speak

Maybe eBay? Not sure if you can just buy the circuit board but you can get one as part of this:

How do you lose a circuit board - I can see maybe breaking one?

The key was too easy to pry apart and came apart in while it was in my bag and through the shuffle, they circuit board popped out.

It sucks; I would've liked to just buy the replacement cover. So, is do I definiteily have to buy the entire key head and get the dealer to reprogram?
