Not to drive this into the ground , but is there a definitive answer about whether PCNA requires N-Spec tires on a vehicle being sold through their CPO program? I just purchased a CPO 2009 997.2 S Coupe that has a set of Hankooks on it. Should I be going back and insisting on N-spec? Am I going to run into warranty hassles down the road if I don't have the N-spec tires?

I looked at a car that I wanted a CPO on and the dealer said he would have to put N spec tires on before he could give it a CPO.

I also "assumed" that the car had to have N rated tires to be CPOed

Dealer agreed that CPO car should have N-Spec tires and installed a new set of P-Zero Rossos.

Interesting tidbit. I contacted PCNA to find out what they require for a CPO car and couldn't get a straight answer. They said they rely on the dealers to certify the cars and this was a "sales" issue. When I asked whether the certification criteria they rely on the dealers to implement includes N-Spec tires, their response was "interesting question - why don't you go talk to your dealer first and if that doesn't resolve your issue we might be able to look into it further." You would think that PCNA would have a definitive answer.

I just bought a CPO. At the time of purchase the dealer told me that their CPO's have a minimum of 80% tread and that must be rated higher than the car. This could be a self impossed requirement by this dealer, but it makes sense, since someone could take it to a track, blow a tire and then sue the dealer for selling a vehicle with improper or dangerous tires.

Has anyone had any issues with cpo warranty having non-N rated tires such as michelin super sports?
Not talking about certification process during purchase.
