Default Child seats

I was planning my first trip with the family, which includes a 5 and 2 year olds. I went to the back and started to took for the hooks (anchors) for the booster seats, but there is nothing there. There are only two plastic plugs that show where the latch should go. So, do I have to buy my own hooks (that would be surprising) and install them?

Aren't they under the carpet or something like that? Might have to cut the carpet to get at them. I'm sure I've read about this on here before. I'll need to do the same thing in two months when our son turns a year old and car be forward facing.

I looked everywhere, I can't seem to find them or even where they should be.

If you look closely, there are perforations in the carpet on the rear shelf. You can cut into this and through the insulation. Below this are the hooks. I don't have a pic w me.

I did it, but,

If someone told me 3 months ago that in order to put in a child seat in the back, I'd have cut the carpet and cut the foam to get to the anchor, I would not believe it.

I mean it's butcher job, it just doesn't feel right to be cutting thiings in this car, lol.

Anyway, thanks for the help, I'm looking forward to my first family trip, and to show the wife and the kids what this obsession of mine is all about.

Gravedgr - what type of seats are those?
I have 10 and 8 year old daughters, they are thisclose to being able to ride without boosters. The ones we have for our other cars don't fit the back seat of the P-car.
I'm trying to find and inexpensive booster that will fit.

I believe the model is the Sunshine Radian 80 XL (not sure about "sunshine"). These are full size, metal frame seats. I had to get creative with the belts to get them to wedge in there right, but they are acceptible. The seats themselves are tough as hell.

Thanks. It doesn't appear (from the photos I found on-line) that the seat back detaches from the base. Is that accurate? If so, I need to keep searching.

You are correct - it does not detach, although it does fold for traveling. We'll get a better fitting booster when the time comes.

Coloradoheel - try the Harmony LiteRider youth booster seat. I've got 2 in my 997 and they are narrower than the typical booster, fit like a glove (and affordable!)

Believe it or not the only place I could find them was Walmart (which i detest). $13/each
