GREAT new shots... look at the engine bay! It looks like a whole new intake system with 2 massive fans!
Also, the location of the engine is definitely moved forward!!!

I think we might be seeing Porsche's version of engine encapsulation for heat retention. I remember reading that BMW was going to be using this and that they determined that for every 1 deg C of retained heat, fuel economy was improved by .2%. For a car left sitting for up to 8 hours, fuel economy was improved by up to 2%. Whatever.
Personally, I like being able to see the engine, but I guess it's not any worse than the engine accessibility in a Boxster or Cayman.

While there is a benefit to retaining heat, subjecting the engine compartment, wiring, fuel lines, injectors to this heat soak is not good. The better way is to insulate the coolant reservior tank so the coolant remains warm longer and upon engine restart the engine heats up quicker. Essentially the coolant tank becomes a huge thermos bottle.
