Nicely done mate! Flat black has been done many times but I havnt seen a 911 murdered out until this one. I owned a Ducati monster dark years back and the flat black finsh was as durable as any clear coated finish as long as I didnt get any aggressive cleaner on it. Soap/water & chamois dry is all i ever needed. tasteful mods in my opnion and like others have noted the diffuser is a racy touch. Curious if you feel any added downforce at high speed?

Hey HardBack .. so 2 points..
Cleaning.. a few people have asked me on feedback on Matte and washing..
soap water.. wash.. looks like tons of streaks when chamming .looks like a mess when you start to dry... but the paint dries perfect.. not a mark or streak.. lot easier to manage.. especially when you lock your cat in the Garage overnight and picks your car to sleep on.. must of counted 300 foot prints..

So Conclusion on Washing and drying a matte finish car : Has never been faster and or easier

Rear Diffuser : The Car is stable.. no doubt about it.. I only know the C4S with the Diffuser on.. so could not provide a Pro/Cons on handling..and have not tracked it either so no reached speeds that could be telling... I will say tha a solid CON is when I scraped it reversing out what look like a normal driveway.. I scrapped the fins.. I will polish with diamond sand paper and re coat..I think lowering my Car 20mm has not helped any..

You can wax this but you need to use Swiss ax opaque which is specially designed for these finishes.

Have seen it on a frost grey M3 and it provides great protection.

Just curious if the diffuser affects engine cooling?

I nominate this car to be the new Batmobile! Looks so awesome! Where else did you do the carbon besides the front headlight and diffuser?

Again, looks amazing!

i personally wouldn't do that, but that car is not only awesome, but unique. almost every porsche you see is either black or silver and that matte color really differentiates the car. enjoy

I have added a Getty Sport Ducktail (custom matte paint) and tinted my rear lights and custom badge..

Awesome! You and the few others that have the ducktail are going to be in a rather exclusive club since Getty apparently can't sell them anymore. I think it looks exceptionally well on the 997.

Your car is such a beast!

Any reason why Getty can't sell them anymore? Any other source?

Btw, awesome car!.... To the Batcave!!

Porsche is likely protecting their intellectual property, especially since they're selling the "997 Sport Classic" for ~$4K.

Gotta agree, I would never have thought a matte finish would look quite so nice. Kind of makes a plain old paint job look dated. Great looking car... but that diffuser has to take some bumps no?

Thanks !

slipangle77 - Scraped it lightly once.. slowly backing out of a driveway. was not a big lip.. I think with just the angle.. need to buff it up and coat it.. really was not noticeable.. but talk about a full face CRINGE !
