Default Photoshoot of my 2006 997 C2

Hi Everyone,

Here are a few summertime pictures of my car with exterior carbon fiber parts and LED rear lights from Ray of ROTtec Carbon. Ray is a great guy and is a real asset to Porschefiles throughout the world. IMO, his parts has finished off my car nicely and at the same time making it more unique to me!

Exterior Mod list:

-ROTtec CF front lips
-ROTtec CF diffuser
-ROTtec CF mirror housing (lower only)
-ROTtec CF headlight covers
-ROTtec LED tail lights

-Techart lowering springs
-7/15mm spacers
-Sport classic fender stone grads

Great looking ride. The black/silver contrast is fantastic. I have a few questions.

How much lower are your springs? How is ride quality with your setup compared with base configuration? Where and how much $ are the lights both front and rear? DIY?

^ I bought my "911" badge from Bumperplugs. I bet they can paint them for you in any red you want.

Thanks! The Techart springs will lower the base C2 by 25mm. The ride is great, still very comfortable and not jarring over bumps at all. I'd contact Ray of ROTtec Carbon for pricing on the rear LED's as I was part of the original group buy on the other forum. The front LED's are not available yet but are coming soon....can't wait!

I installed the badge myself. Just remove the original badge with waxed dental floss. The new 911 badge comes with marked guides to ensure for an easy and accurate install.

I'm also a fan of the lights!

Removing the badge with waxed floss.... tedious, effortless, or somewhere in between?
I'm aware its just adhesive, but I would fear some paint lift.

Thanks, Ken

^I'm not the DIY kinda guy and so if I can do it, anyone can! I would say just a little more than effortless and little patience will do it. Some Goof Off or wax to remove the glue residue will help too. Don't worry about the paint lifting. This process should take at most 30 minutes.

I just removed my "carrera" insignia that was cracked at the stealership after they washed the car. THis is how I did it. First use a hair dryer on the medium hot setting. Warm up the letters for about 3 min. This will get the adhesive soft. Then use the Glide gore dental floss. Take a long piece and pry it between the paint and the adhesive. Use slow medium firm pressure downward toward the car surface. It will come off very easily without damaging the paint at all. Then after that, if needed, use some mild scratch remover to get the remainder of the gluey stuff off. Then wax the area and put on the new lettering. It is very simple. Good luck

Yeah. I wonder why Porsche doesn't simply put "911" on the car's rear? I love seeing "911" back there.
