Default Is the passenger cabin sealed off from an exhaust leak?

Kind of a bizarre question, but I noticed a small exhaust leak on one of my mufflers that I had custom work done to. I imagine the leak has been there for 10k miles or so, and it does not produce a noticeably different tone or odor. Is this something that should be fixed immediately (from a health standpoint), or is the passenger cabin completely sealed off from the rear of the car?

Thanks

Quick... how many fingers am I holding up?
(If you get it right I'd say the last 10k hasn't had much effect.)

Personally I'd get it fixed at my earliest convenience.
I would not go out of my way.

Unless you have the ventilation system completely shut down, the cabin is not even close to being sealed off. OTOH, it's probably not likely that a small leak at the rear of the car is going to be a problem especially when the car is moving. Just keep in mind that carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless, and quite toxic.

I was hoping that any leaks in the rear of the car would vent through the rear deck and not enter the passenger compartment. I am going to drive the car to/on/from a track in a couple of days and probably won't be able to get to a muffler shop in time. May be time to install a CO detector in the car
