'Dead Pedal' Tequipment upgrade
I received as a gift a Tequipment footrest (Part No. 997-551-986-00) upgrade matching the other pedals in the car with an aluminum trim and [fake] rubber pad. It looks great and does a great job, as the std flat plastic dead panel does not offer the same grip.
It is easy to install as it slides in place with two tabs. Note: The original footrest is removed by pulling it up, but it is best to use a trim removal tool inserted in the center (left side) to peel it out to relieve the pressure of a sawtooth locking ridge, which locks the unit in place preventing it to move up.
Note: just noticed the footrest black pad is still plastic. Just like the throttle pad. Why not rubber?

Wait ... there's a pedal missing in your car!
My TT came with that (overpriced) piece and it is useful. Although I have a set of aluminum pedals from Suncoast I may install one of these days.
